Chris Casanega
Chris Casanega holds over 20 years of experience in the financial services industry, including the past 20 years managing portfolios with Sharper Granite. Prior to this, Mr. Casanega was a manager with the Financial Institutions Group at consultancy A.T. Kearney where he advised upon strategic mergers to some of the largest banks in the world.
Mr. Casanega also held a senior director position at software company, Corio Inc., managing one of the firm’s primary business lines and helping to take the firm public in 2000.
Mr. Casanega began his career in 1989 as a flight and testing engineer for NASA’s Space Shuttle Program. In six years as a guidance, navigation and flight control engineer he served in live flight support, monitoring eleven successful space shuttle launches and deorbits. He also received a distinguished award for his role in resolving a mysterious flight control issue holding up the launch of shuttle flight STS-61, the mission which successfully repaired the Hubble Space Telescope.
Mr. Casanega received a Bachelor of Science degree in mechanical engineering, focusing on fluid dynamics, from the University of California at Berkeley and an MBA, focusing on investment portfolio theory and economics, from the Kellogg Graduate School of Management at Northwestern University.
